Job Announcement

Are you an amazing graphic designer who genuinely enjoys teamwork and group feedback? Designs and manages internal and external communication materials such as brochures, posters, tool kits, logos, campaign graphics, annual reports and newsletters. Contributes to strategic communications planning as an essential member of the DFS Communications Team. Stays current on new technology and best practices, and occasionally trains other employees on design software and techniques. Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to a bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public administration, political science, or field related to a department's business, plus five years of progressively responsible experience in communication area of specialization or area of specialization of department represented.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a child protective services check and a driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite tools (InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, etc.);
  • A minimum of one (1) year prepress experience/packaging documents for printers;
  • Five years of communication experience in the public sector and/or nonprofit.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sufficiently mobile to attend events and make presentations outside the office. Ability to use automated technology. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. All duties are performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
